Raúl Rodríguez got his Naval Architect and Oceanic Engineer degree (Level EQF-7) in 2001, one Postgraduate Certificate on design specialists ailing yachts (2006) and two more on application of finite element methods (2009 and 2010).
He worked with NAVANTIA, the mayor shipbuilding company in Spain, as Project Engineer (2002-2006).
In September 2006, he joined Robotiker as Senior Researcher where he was the Naval Systems Manager of the OCEANTEC Project (a wave energy converter).
In 2009, he joined the Technological Centre of Components in Santander (Spain) where he was first the Head of the Renewable Energy Unit after that the Head of R&D Projects.
In 2016, he joined TECNALIA where he currently is the Head of Marine and Offshore Engineering in the Marine Energy Area.
Among other responsibilities, he is in charge of the Lifetime Offshore Logistics of the H2020 OPERA Project, coordinated by TECNALIA.
He is involved in standardisation aspects of marine energy devices within IEC/TC114.
He is author or co-author of more than 10 papers and conference communications in national and international forums.
He is the holder of one patent related to renewable energy.
